Welcoming remark of H.E.Valery Yermolov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Malaysia

On behalf of the Embassy of the Russian Federation to Malaysia and myself, I would like to welcome the leadership and the participants of the Russian Business Council for Cooperation with Malaysia.

I am sure that the establishment of the Business Council will provide a major positive impetus to the initiatives of Russian and Malaysian businessmen, as well as promote the development of the bilateral ties in trade, investments, science, technology, culture and other areas.

I wish the Business Council a successful work, establishment of new contacts and development of partnership between Russian and Malaysian business circles.

Welcoming remark of H.E. Liudmila Vorobieva, Director of the 3rd Department of Asia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Former Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Malaysia (2010-2015).

Today Russian-Malaysian relations develop dynamically in different areas: a regular political dialogue is maintained, economy cooperation is becoming deeper, cultural exchanges are being carried out, and the inter-regional ties are becoming stronger. Malaysia is one of the most important partners of Russia in the South-East Asia. At the same time, I am sure, that there is still huge potential for expanding areas of our cooperation and strengthening business and friendly relations between our countries.

Business Council can be an effective mechanism for realization of this potential, because it will create a base for permanent meetings of entrepreneurs of two countries, covering the whole range of trade and economy cooperation.

I welcome the activation of activities of the Business Council, as it corresponds with the trend of gradual development of bilateral relations.

I am sure that the work of the Business council will impact the expansion of trade and economy cooperation between Russia and Malaysia, will improve the business climate and create conductive environment for attracting foreign investment and innovations.

I wish the Business Council every success in its work.
