Medvedev hopes that energy cooperation in Asia Pacific will develop on market conditions.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev hopes that cooperation in the Asia Pacific region will develop without illegitimate unilateral restrictions.

"We hope that the energy sector in the Asia Pacific will develop on market conditions, without any illegitimate unilateral restrictions," Medvedev said at the summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in Port Moresby. "We are ready to develop relations in the gas sphere with all interested partners," he added.

The prime minister emphasized that natural gas is the most ecological and effective type of traditional fuel resources. "Russia is developing gas pipeline infrastructure and capacities for producing liquified natural gas," Medvedev said.

Talking about important goals for APEC, he noted the importance of organizing infrastructural connectivity of the region. He talked about Russia's work on developing its own infrastructure, firstly in transport, and plans to link those projects with similar programs pursued by foreign partners.
