Moscow, Baku should more actively unlock transport potential

This refers first and foremost to the creation of rail, motor and maritime infrastructure as part of the North-South international transport corridor.
Russia and Azerbaijan should take advantage of their favorable geographic position and more actively develop transport and transit potential, Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin said at a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ali Asadov.
"We should fully use the favorable geographical location of Russia and Azerbaijan in the center of Eurasia and the Caspian Region and more actively explore transport and transit potential," Mishustin said.
This refers first and foremost to the creation of rail, motor and maritime infrastructure as part of the North-South international transport corridor, he noted.
"Work in this area has already begun on the basis of a relevant roadmap. We plan to expand cargo transportation over the western route of the North-South international corridor to 15 mln metric tons per year," the Prime Minister added.
"We are confident that the implementation of new infrastructure projects will benefit all South Caucasian nations," Mishustin added.
