Russia to continue developing microelectronic equipment

One of the key tasks for the near term is to master production of required domestic modern equipment.
Russia will continue developing indigenous modern equipment for microelectronics production and prospects of this area were discussed at the meeting headed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, the Cabinet said on its website on Tuesday.
Provision of technological sovereignty and development of national electronic industry become particularly current amid mounting sanctions pressure, the Government said. "The government has initiated development of new federal projects on the instruction of the head of state, aimed at developing the electronics industry, and ensured extra budget funding for the sector," the Cabinet noted.
One of the key tasks for the near term is to master production of required domestic modern equipment, the Government said. This will make possible to exclude dependence on foreign vendors as regards service maintenance, customer support and spare parts supplies.
"The infrastructure of leading national centers of the country is planned to be involved in solution of this task, as Mikhail Mishustin noted at the meeting. Financial resources will be employed down the line of the state program of Electronics and Radio Electronics Industry Development. Allocation of funds should be provided for in 2023. The Ministry of Industry will deal with consideration of details," the Cabinet added.
