Volume of National Wealth Fund reaches $135.7 bln as of April 1, 7% of 2024 GDP forecast

As of March 1, 2024, the volume of the National Wealth Fund was 12.26 trillion rubles ($133.16 bln.
The volume of the National Wealth Fund as of April 1, 2024, reached 12.53 trillion rubles ($135.7 bln), or 7% of the GDP projected for 2024, according to the Russian Ministry of Finance.
As of March 1, 2024, the volume of the National Wealth Fund was 12.26 trillion rubles ($133.16 bln).
"As of April 1, 2024, the volume of the National Wealth Fund amounted to 12,534,406.3 mln rubles, or 7.0% of GDP projected for 2024 in accordance with federal law of November 27, 2023 N 540-FZ ‘On the Federal Budget for 2024 and for the planning period 2025 and 2026,’ which is equivalent to $135,703.7 mln," the Ministry of Finance said.
At the same time, the volume of liquid assets of the National Wealth Fund as of April 1 amounted to 5.088 trillion rubles ($55.49 bln) or 2.8% of the forecast GDP for 2024.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the total estimated amount of income from the placement of National Wealth Fund funds in foreign currency accounts with the Bank of Russia, converted into US dollars, for the period from December 15, 2023 to March 31, 2024 amounted to $31.8 mln, which is equivalent to 2. 94 bln rubles.
The exchange rate difference for the assets of the National Wealth Fund denominated in foreign currency and the revaluation of the value of gold in which the funds of the fund were invested, for the period from January 1 to March 31, 2024, totaled 241.48 bln rubles ($2.63 bln).
As of April 1, the accounts of the National Wealth Fund with the Bank of Russia contained 227.62 bln Chinese yuan, 334.87 tons of gold, and 1.65 bln rubles ($18.01 bln).
