WHO has included nine developments of Russian vaccines in the list of promising ones

"Nine Russian developments of vaccines against COVID-19 are included in the WTO list of promising ones. Among them are six drugs created at the state scientific center of Virology and biotechnology "Vector",<...> two vaccines developed by the company "Biocad", < ... > a vaccine developed by the St. Petersburg research Institute of vaccines and serums, "- the report says.
Clarifies that the developments of “Vector” - peptide vaccine platform that has previously been used for vaccine development against Ebola virus, subunit vaccines, live vector-based vaccine of measles virus, recombinant intranasal vaccine based on influenza “A” virus, vaccine vector based on vesicular stomatitis virus “mRNA” vaccine. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said that the first samples of ready-made vaccines from the “Vector” center will be available in Russia until May 10. Pre-clinical trials will run until June 22, and clinical trials will begin on June 29, with 60 volunteers participating.
“Biocad” developed a live viral vector vaccine based on an attenuated influenza virus base (together with the Institute of experimental medicine) and encapsulated in liposomes of “mRNA”, and the Saint Petersburg research Institute of vaccines and serums developed a recombinant protein and nanoparticles (based on S-protein and other epitopes). The fact that the vaccine against coronavirus infection, developed by the Saint Petersburg research Institute of vaccines and serums of the Federal medical and biological Agency (FMBA), was included in the list of promising WHO vaccines, became known on April 7. At that time, this was the only Russian development in the list.
According to the resource, there are currently 83 candidate vaccines in the world, of which 77 are at the stage of preclinical research and six are undergoing clinical trials on humans.
