A wind farm using a unique technology is planned to be built in the far East

Group of companies “Innovative systems” from Voronezh plans to build a wind farm in the Far East using a unique technology that makes the installation 2.5 times more powerful than its foreign counterparts. Production of turbines or main units can be deployed in Primorye or Khabarovsk territory, the press service of the Agency of the Far East for Attracting Investment and Supporting Exports (ANO “API”) reported.
"The company has signed a cooperation agreement with our Agency. Renewable energy sources are a promising natural resource that allows for economic activity and comfortable living of the population away from the centralized energy infrastructure. These technologies have significant potential in relation to the development of energy in the Far East and the Arctic, where there is not only a significant natural potential, but also a significant socio-economic need," the report quotes the words of the General Director of the “API”, Leonid Petukhov.
The company has developed and produces two-rotor wind turbines of megawatt class, the performance of which is 2.5 times higher than that of existing foreign counterparts of the same capacity. This makes the cost of electricity generated much cheaper. In addition, wind turbines are designed to operate at relatively low wind speeds. The company sees great potential for using this technology to solve the problems of energy supply in remote areas of the Far East and the Arctic, where the cost of Northern delivery of diesel fuel is high.
"However, the geographical conditions of Far East require special approaches to logistics and installation of equipment, so we had to develop the technology on which our wind turbines are mounted without the use of expensive cranes and all equipment can be delivered to the point construction in standard containers. For projects implementation we are considering the possibility of organizing production two-rotor turbines or their major sites in Primorye or Khabarovsk territories, using the established site of territories of priority development, which will significantly reduce the cost of transportation to the regions of Far East and closer to a major market in the Asia-Pacific region", - quoted the press service of the General Director of “Innovative systems” Elena Tikhonova.
It is noted that the current measures to support projects for the construction of grid power plants based on renewable energy sources, associated with the localization of production of appropriate equipment, for technological and economic reasons, can not be applied in the Far East. Therefore, we need to look for alternative mechanisms to support investors, since the implementation of such projects stimulates the socio-economic development of the macroregion.
