S&P to withdraw all of its ratings on Russian entities until April 15
On March 15, the EU announced a ban on providing credit ratings to legal persons, entities, or bodies established in Russia.
S&P Global Ratings has announced the withdrawal of all of its ratings on Russian companies until April 15, 2022, the global rating agency said in a statement on Tuesday.
The decision followed the European Union’s ban on providing credit ratings to legal persons, entities or bodies established in Russia, the agency said.
"On March 15, 2022, the European Union (EU) announced a ban on providing credit ratings to legal persons, entities, or bodies established in Russia. In light of this, S&P Global Ratings will withdraw all of its outstanding ratings on relevant issuers before April 15, 2022, the deadline imposed by the EU," the statement said.
On March 9, S&P announced the suspension of its commercial operations in Russia.
