Putin to hold a meeting to discuss measures to support metallurgy amid sanctions — Kremlin

During a closed-door part of the meeting there will be an exchange of views, reports by the Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov and Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.
Russian President Vladimir Putin is to hold a meeting with metallurgists to discuss how to support the industry amid sanctions and to combat "hostile manifestations" from outside, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters. He noted that Russian metallurgical industry is among the world leaders.
"Like many other industries our metallurgists are now facing hostility, unfriendly steps. Our companies are experiencing certain difficulties. This meeting will be held to develop an algorithm for supporting the industry and combating these hostile manifestations that come from unfriendly countries," he said.
According to him, the meeting will start at about 04:00 pm Moscow time. At the opening of the meeting Putin's remarks are planned and if he finds it necessary, his final remarks will also be on the air, Peskov said.

The Kremlin official explained that the sectors of the economy that Khusnullin oversees are major consumers of the products of the Russian metallurgical industry.
The Kremlin spokesman added that Putin will soon start the third meeting of the supervisory board of the Russia - Land of Opportunity platform. It will be held as a videoconference. Other working events of the President, scheduled for Wednesday, are non-public.
