Uralchem to supply fertilizers to Africa free of charge - CEO
The company is providing fertilizers to African countries on a free basis as part of its humanitarian mission on the continent.
The Uralchem-Uralkali Group is ready to supply in total 260,000 metric tons of fertilizers blocked in European ports to Africa as the humanitarian aid, CEO of Uralchem Dmitry Konyaev told TASS.
The first batch of the NPK fertilizer to be shipped will be about 20,000 metric tons with the destination in Malawi, the top manager noted.
"We plan further supplies of our mineral fertilizers to the African continent free of charge. We are ready to hand over about 240,000 metric tons of fertilizers more that remain in European storages ad quickly as possible," the top manager said.
"With participation of the UN, we are holding talks to lift the block on them," Konyaev noted. The company is providing fertilizers to African countries on a free basis as part of its humanitarian mission on the continent, he added.
