Europe pays highest prices for petrochemicals after Russian companies left it – Sibur

The executive director of the company Sergey Komyshan considers this, among other things, a consequence of the imposition of sanctions against Russia.
The Europeans now have to pay the highest prices for petrochemicals in the world after the Russian producers had to leave Europe due to sanctions, Sergey Komyshan, executive director of the Sibur petrochemical company said in an interview with TASS.
"Russian manufacturers were forced to leave Europe for Asia. Someone had to replace us in Europe. That someone had not come to Europe before, because it was less profitable. To make it profitable for him, they should have raise prices in Europe on average in comparison to the rest of the world, which has happened. As a result, now European consumers of petrochemical products are paying the highest prices in the world," he said.
However, European prices do not affect the situation on the Russian petrochemical market, Sibur's top manager noted.
Earlier, Sibur’s general director, Mikhail Karisalov, said that for Europe, which had actually stopped working with Russia on the supply line of rubbers and polymers, it would take years to replace Russian petrochemicals.
