Trade turnover between Russia, Vietnam to reach $10 bln by 2025
Vietnam is known to be Russia's long-standing partner.
Trade turnover between Russia and Vietnam is expected to reach $10 bln by 2025, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said following a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation.
"Vietnam is our long-standing partner, with our relations traditionally being friendly and not exposed to market fluctuations. The strengthening of strategic partnership with Vietnam is one of Russia’s foreign policy priorities in the region. We see the goal of $10 bln worth of trade turnover met by 2025 as a target," Chernyshenko was quoted as saying by his office on Thursday.
For reaching that goal, the two countries have drafted a comprehensive plan of action on the main areas of joint efforts, including industry, agriculture, energy, finances, transport, digitalization.
The final protocol of the 24th meeting of the intergovernmental Russian-Vietnamese commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation was signed by co-chairs of the commission, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko and his Vietnamese counterpart Tran Hong Ha.
