Russia does not seize assets of companies from unfriendly countries — Kremlin
"Those who leave the market either sell or transfer assets - it all depends on negotiations," Dmitry Peskov noted.
Russia does not seize the assets of companies from unfriendly countries - when they exit the market, they are sold or transferred, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
"No, Russia has not started the process of confiscation [of investors' assets from unfriendly countries], there is no confiscation. Those who leave the market either sell or transfer assets - it all depends on negotiations," he said.
Thus, Peskov commented on Vladimir Putin's decrees, pursuant to which Russian legal organizations are established to handle the Yuzhno-Russkoye and Achimov deposits of the Urengoy oil and gas condensate field. Several LLCs will be formed, according to documents published this week, to transfer all of the rights and liabilities of current JSCs, OJSCs, and LLCs.
