Forecast of Russia’s grain harvest in 2024 will not be revised — agriculture minister

Oksana Lut noted that this year Russian farmers faced unprecedentedly difficult weather conditions.
The forecast for grain harvest in Russia by the end of 2024 in the amount of about 130 mln tons will not be revised until the end of the year, Russian Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut said in an interview with Vedomosti.
"Despite all the difficulties, this year's results will be more than decent - the harvest will be among the top five in the country's history. Earlier, [Deputy Prime Minister] Dmitry Patrushev said that about 130 mln tons of grain would be harvested. This figure will not be revised until the end of the year," she said.
The minister noted that this year Russian farmers faced unprecedentedly difficult weather conditions - in the spring a number of regions suffered from recurrent frosts, in the summer - from drought, and during the harvest - from heavy rainfall.
Earlier, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev said that the forecast for the grain harvest in Russia in 2024 has been reduced from 132 mln tons to around 130 mln tons, including 83 mln tons of wheat.
In 2023, the second largest grain harvest in the history of Russia was obtained - about 143 mln tons, and taking into account Donbass and Novorossiya - around 147 mln tons.
