Imports of air conditioners with freon R-410 requires license — Russian customs

The Russian Customs Service started requesting licenses from suppliers of air conditioners, refrigerators and other equipment containing the freon R-410 from November 12.
A special license issued by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade is required for importing air conditioners, commercial and domestic refrigerators using a special coolant mix - the freon R-410, the press service of the Federal Customs Service told TASS.
The license issued by the Ministry or an authorization of the Russian environmental watchdog Rosprirodnadzor is required in accordance with the procedure of "importing ozone depleting substances and products containing ozone depleting substance to the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union and exporting from the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union," the customs said.
The Kommersant news outlet reported earlier, citing CEO of the Eurasian Asso-ciation of the Heating Systems Market Igor Prudnikov, that the Russian Customs Ser-vice started requesting licenses from suppliers of air conditioners, refrigerators and oth-er equipment containing the freon R-410 from November 12.
