Russia’s manufacturing PMI index down to 50.2 points in February
Some firms noted sustained demand conditions in February, while others highlighted a broad stagnation in new orders, S&P Global said.
Russia’s Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) fell to 50.2 points in February 2025 from 53.1 points in the previous month, the S&P Global analytical agency said in a report.
"The latest data signaled only a slight improvement in the health of the goods producing sector, and one that was the slowest in the current five-month sequence of growth," the report said.
Some firms noted sustained demand conditions in February, while others highlighted a broad stagnation in new orders, S&P Global said. The pace of increase in output weakened to only a fractional pace that was the slowest in the current four-month sequence of expansion.
Weighing on the sector's performance was a broad stagnation in new orders. However, the respective seasonally adjusted index was at its lowest for four months, as firms noted muted demand conditions, according to the report.
The PMI value above 50 points is indicative of the business activity growth and the value below the said level flags its slowdown.
