Meeting with the Malaysian Ambassador in Moscow
On March 29, 2021, the leadership of the Business Council for Cooperation with Malaysia visited the Malaysian Embassy in Moscow, where they met with the newly appointed Ambassador of Malaysia to Russia, Bala Chandran and his staff.
During the first meeting, the parties exchanged information on the state of development of bilateral relations in all areas of cooperation. It was noted that the sanitary and epidemiological restrictions imposed in Russia and Malaysia had a negative impact on interaction and contacts at all levels.
Chairman of the Business Council V. N. Sautov informed the Malaysian partners about the plans of the Business Council for the near future and called for more active work to revive mutually beneficial contacts and ties. In particular, the first major event will be the session of the Working Group on Industrial and Trade Cooperation on May 11, 2021.
The Ambassador of Malaysia, in turn, noted the high level of cooperation between the state and business. He expressed readiness to support joint Russian-Malaysian projects and suggested that the most significant of them be included in the agenda of the next meeting of the Joint Russian-Malaysian Commission on Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation, scheduled to be held in Malaysia this year.
The parties agreed to continue the exchange of views on the issues of interest.
