Meeting with Dato’ Abdul Rahman Dahlan, Co-Chairman of the Russian-Malaysian Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economy, Science and Culture Cooperation.

Directors of the Russian Business Council for Cooperation with Malaysia met with Dato’ Abdul Rahman Dahlan, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department of Malaysia, who was newly appointed (on September 5, 2017) as a Co-Chairman of the Russian-Malaysian Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economy, Science and Culture Cooperation.

Directors congratulated Minister with the new appointment and expressed hope that this will give the new impetus to development of the Russian-Malaysian bilateral relations and will launch regular mechanism of bilateral consultations in the respective areas.

Sides discussed desired areas of cooperation, that have great potential for mutually beneficial work. Minister has voiced out industries that, on his opinion, are of the most interest for Malaysia: infrastructure, innovation, IT, nuclear technologies (including nuclear medicine), aviation and aerospace and etc. He suggested that these and other topics to be included in the agenda of the first sitting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission.

Minister has supported plans of the Business Council to host a Russian-Malaysian Business, Science and Technology Forum on 17 November, 2017. He stressed, that this event will create an opportunity to activate contacts between our countries and present the potential of Russian companies and regions, that might be used in Malaysia.
